Spring Into Action 2016


Following are Ellendale and nearby neighborhood events coming in the next few week weeks. Events include a food drive, park beautification and clean-ups, an Easter egg hunts, yard sales, and a flea market.

Starting Thursday, March 25 - 31, 2016 — Canned Food Drive

As part of Notional Community Development Week, the City of St. Louis Community Development Administration (CDA) is sponsoring a canned food drive benefitting the following food pantries: Carondelet Community Betterment Federation, City Seniors, Inc., Food Outreach, Guardian Angel Settlement Assoc., and Hi Pointe Center. Individual and group donations are accepted. You can drop off canned goods at City Hall (near entrances) or at 1520 Market Street (near 1st floor elevators). Saturday, March 26, 2016 — Clifton Heights Power Hour Park Cleanup

Clifton Heights is having a Clifton Park cleanup this Saturday, March 26 at 9:00 a.m.

Saturday, March 26, 2016 — Easter Egg Hunt

The Clifton Heights Neighborhood Association (CHNA) is hosting their annual Easter egg Hunt for children up to 8 years old in Clifton Park at 1:00 p.m. sharp. Eggs are all filled! Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 — Ellendale Slay Park Beautification

The Ellendale Neighborhood Association will be holding a park beautification event at Slay Park on Saturday, April 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. The focus will be on picking up litter and trimming back overgrown vegetation along walkways. Bring your family, friends and neighbors! We will meet in the Slay Park parking lot. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Bring a tree trimming tool if you desire.

Saturday, April 9th, 2016 — Franz Park Community Garden Work Day

The second garden work day for the Franz Park Community Garden (located at the corner of Manchester and McCausland Avenues) will be Saturday, April 9th at 10:00am.

Saturday, April 16, 2016 — Nextdoor Nine Nearby Neighborhoods Spring Community Yard Sale

8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If interested in participating, send your name, address, and a cell number (in case you need to be contacted) to yardsale@cliftonheightsneighborhood.org by Sunday April 03, 2016.

Saturday, April 16, 2016 — LPNA Flea Market

The Lindenwood Park Neighborhood Association is hosting a Flea Market at the Timothy Lutheran Church Gym (corner of Fyler and Ivanhoe) from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The flea market will raise funds for improvements and activities at Lindenwood Park. Admission is free. Early bird admission from 7:00-8:00 a.m. is $1.00. Cost to display your treasures is $15 per table. If you don’t want to host a table, you may donate items to the sale by bringing them to the Timothy Lutheran gym on Friday, April 15 anytime after 6:30pm.
